Looking for ways to connect to a Vancouver Lutheran Church? Below are the ministries we offer organized by age group. We have children ministries, youth ministries, and adult ministries. We also provide ESL training and ministries friendly to people who are in the process of learning English — right … so all of us 🙂
Bring your little ones to Sunday School. It happens each Sunday at 4:30pm. It is a great atmosphere where they will learn about Jesus and make new friends. It is for children ages 1-12 years old.
We provide two programs for our youth aged 11-14: a catechism class that explains the basics of the faith; and once finished that, a Teen Bible Study. Both of these are each Sunday at 4:30pm.
We’ve got many opportunities for adults to connect with other believers through Bible-studies scheduled throughout the week. We have small groups, Sunday School Bible studies, and much more.

Do you want a safe, nurturing environment for your little ones to learn about Jesus and interact with other little ones? Then come and check out our Sunday School for ages 1-12 years old.
Sunday School starts at 4:30pm every Sunday, and lasts for 45 minutes.
Dress code is casual. Play clothes and footwear are fine.
Parents can either stay in the Sunday School room to learn with their children, or head over to the adult Bible study to grab a cup of coffee and join the adult conversation, knowing their children are in safe, qualified hands just down the hall.
Christian education is not necessary. Each Sunday School lesson is designed to introduce young learners to the Bible and its teachings through simple stories, songs, games, and crafts.
Each lesson is presented in simple English, so we welcome children who are learning English as a second language (ESL).
It is not necessary to attend the worship service. If you would like to attend our main Sunday worship service at 3:00pm on Sundays, though, your children are absolutely welcome to join! We are a very child-friendly congregation, and welcome all ages. Each service includes a brief children’s message and our church facility is equipped with a quiet play room in the back of the sanctuary so parents continue to participate in the service while children play with the toys provided.
Youth Catechism Class
Do you want your teenager to learn the fundamentals of our Christian faith? Then have them join our Catechism Class which we offer every Sunday 4:30-5:30pm. This class is designed for young people in grades 6-8 (ages 11-14).
This Catechism Class is taught by Pastor Geoff and David Sigrist and covers a broad range of topics like Baptism, relationships, and the Ten Commandments. At the conclusion of these Catechism Classes, students will have the scriptural information needed to make a public profession of faith. Your teen can then decide if he/she would like to be confirmed and take Communion with our congregation.
Teen Bible Study
Our Teen Bible Study is a drop-in class perfect for ages 14-18 year old. Classes are 4:30-5:30pm every Sunday starting September 4th.
This drop-in class has a casual discussion format. All reading materials are provided. This class is a great way for teens to look in depth into the Bible about issues that they face in every day real life. Topics include dating, social media, friendships, stress, and popularity. An understanding of the Bible is helpful, but not required. This class is ideal for teens who have just completed the Catechism program.
On usually the third Saturday of every month our youth get together for a social event. Example activities include watching popular films and have a discussion afterwards, or go-cart racing.
All Youth (ages 11-18) are invited to attend. Contact David Sigrist for more information.
Yes. There is no cost to join, but we do want to be sure the student is committed to attending these Catechism classes regularly and willing to engage positively during the weekly classes. Please call or email Pastor Geoff to register and discuss the program before the next class to help answer any questions you may have.
For the Teen Bible Study, there are no registration requirements. Drop-ins are welcome.
No! Prior Christian education is not required. These classes are designed to engage teens wherever they are in their understanding of the Bible.
For the Teen Bible Studies, having an understanding of the Bible will enrich the weekly topical discussions. If your teen is new to Christianity and interested in learning more about the Bible before joining these discussions, consider starting first with our Catechism class.
Each week we look at a different question or topic to see how the Bible addresses it. There will be some memorization, quizzes, and light homework assigned to cover all of the materials.
For the Teen Bible Study, each week we look at a different question or topic to see how the Bible addresses it, then we discuss as a group how we can face these challenges in the real world.
No. Any young person may participate in these classes.
Attending our worship service is not a mandatory requirement to participate in these classes. However, missing out on worship misses part of the experience catechism class offers. If your schedule permits, please join us for worship on Sundays at 3pm.
For the catechism class, anyone may participate in the class, but young people get most out of the class if they can commit to regular attendance because the body of knowledge builds as we progress throughout the year.
For the Teen Bible Study, it is designed to address one topic each week. Drop-ins always welcome.
Yes. You can drop your teen off at 4:30pm and pick him/her up at 5:30pm. If you have scheduling issues that would require a different drop off or pick up time, please contact Pastor Geoff to share your personal needs and see how we can help you.
We offer an Adult Bible Class at the same time as our classes and Sunday School programs. Parents can choose to drop in on the Adult Bible Class or sit quietly and observe the classes. Everyone is welcome to attend or observe our classes.
There is no cost to participate. Materials are provided free of charge to everyone enrolled in these classes.
We offer a variety of opportunities for everyone over the age of 18 years old to connect with other Christians through Bible studies conveniently scheduled after worship on Sunday and throughout the week.
Adult Bible Study
Join us every Sunday at 4:30pm for Adult Bible Study, immediately following our 3pm worship service, taught by David Sigrist or Pastor Geoff.
Our seasonal studies cover a broad range of topics, from biblical teachings like “faith,” from books of the Bible like “Matthew,” to select topics like the Reformation.
Chinese Bible Study
Our Chinese Bible Study group is taught by our Evangelist Qiang Wang, and is a great way to discuss the sermon and readings you hear in church.
It meets every Sunday at 4:30pm after worship. Light snacks are provided.
God and Me Class
If you are curious about who Jesus is, or want more information about what the Bible says and what the Church teaches, then join one of our popular God and Me classes.
These classes are for newcomers and inquirers, and focus on the core questions of Christianity. All questions are welcome and expected. And these classes are ESL-friendly.
For evening people one class meets Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm.
For morning people another class meets Saturdays 9:00-10:30am.
Contact Pastor Geoff for more information.
